I have a few gripes.
Nobody likes IEMs that connect when you open the case, especially if you only use one of them. It's okay if both connect, then disconnect again when you close the case, but that's not the case. I have to manually turn one off, since I sleep with them on my side.
I had an audiophile friend measure these with a professional kit. The 1k to 5khz range is about 10dB above neutral. That's about 7dB too much, even with an aggressive V shape, which the C3 possesses.
THe bass could be a little cleaner, dropping 200hz by 5 or so dB, but the sub-bass to the low bass is all very nice for a bass head. They are about 20dB above neutral for current year, but it's mostly the kind of bass that has punch, and not mud. Nicely done in that part, but, as stated, could be a little cleaner.
See image for Measurement.
Blue is default with silicone tips, Red is EQed, and dotted line is neutral.
Now for the positives:
You can manually turn them on and off, and the touch controls are actually responsive, and work well.
The case is bulky, but what do you expect, the battery life more than makes up for it.
Noise isolation is passable at best, but more than enough for passive sounds.
As for comfort, if you have larger ears, like I do, they are an astonishingly good fit. I barely notice them being in at all.
As someone who DOES like bass, these are very nice to listen to when fiddled a bit with via EQing. Speaking of equalisation, they have plenty of volume, and therefore headroom, for turning down specific frequencies, meanin that they EQ quite nicely.
I am not an expert audiophile. These ear buds are comfortable and the sound quality, even the alleged bass heavy sound is just fine for me. Battery life good so far, hasn't dropped from 100% in a week used 1 - 2 hours/day (according to BT connection subtext on Android). My old Z3 had lights on the case that showed battery status - I miss that. Also miss not having an app to go with it to tweak configuration - although I rarely used the old one having set it the way I wanted it. Still getting used to the tap controls which are much more sensitive than the Z3.
Eq feature through app would be great
Cant change controls and only work half the time. When using one earbud, the one in the case stays on with audio coming out of it.
The case is TOO BIG!
Good quality product, sound is decent although I had to equalize it a bunch since the bass and treble were too over empowering.
